This bit design was developed at Holte Manufacturing while researching faster ways to drill big diameter holes. Because there is bit surface reaming a full gauge around the hole, this bit wares much better than a eccentric style bit which uses only about a 45 degree portion of the gauge for reaming.

The Full Gauge UR resembles a conventional hole opener. The extendible arms cover 360 degrees of the hole circumference, minus the four gaps the size of air slots in a conventional bit.
